Schools in Sandwich

Sandwich has 7 schools — three primaries, two secondaries, and two further settings — administered by Kent County Council. Three of the seven operate as academies and set their own admissions policies, meaning parents must consult each institution individually as well as using Kent's co-ordinated admissions portal. Average fill sits at 84 per cent, and no primary is currently oversubscribed, which gives families a slightly wider effective catchment than in many Kent coastal towns.

Sandwich Technology School and The Davenport School are the two secondary options in the town; both are academies. Kent's selective system means some secondary-age pupils will travel to grammar schools in Deal or Canterbury rather than attending the local academy. Eastry Church of England Primary School, just outside the town, is the only faith primary serving the Sandwich area and may draw some families from across the surrounding villages.
